Welcome back!

Hopefully you have all had a relaxing Easter break. the children have been very excited to share everything that they did in the holidays.

First of all, thank you for all the effort that went into your child's costume for Roald Dahl day. We had a fantastic time and hopefully your child told you all about the fun activities we did during the day. We will be doing one final week focussing on Roald Dahl before moving on to a non-fiction unit about Chocolate.

In maths over the next couple of weeks, we will be focussing on fractions, multiplication and division. Please practise counting on and back in 2's, 5's and 10's. Your child also needs to know their doubles and halves to 20 by heart.

Our topic work this term will be Geography based and to begin with we shall be studying the weather. If you have any old postcards from holiday destinations around the world that you would be willing to lend us, please send them in. We will be learning to locate different countries and cities on a world map. In art, we will be studying the work of Andy Goldsworthy and will create some of our own land art inspired by the natural materials we have around us.

Finally, as the weather begins to grow warmer, it is important that your child has a water bottle in school. They will need to take this out to PE lessons as we begin our athletics and rounders units.

Have a lovely weekend!
